Pyromania =/= Hydrophobia (and other firey stuff)

GAAAAAAAAAH

Okay, this was inspired was a sentance on Four Island. “Example 2 is a friend of mine who happens to be a pyromaniac. Because of this, she’s highly hydrophobic.” … My friend, Hat, is wrong about this.

Why? Well, according to Wikipedia, “Pyromania is an impulse to deliberately start fires to relieve tension and typically includes gratification or relief afterward. Pyromania is distinct from arson, and pyromaniacs are also distinct from those who start fires because ofpsychosis, for personal, monetary or political gain, or for acts of revenge. Pyromaniacs start fires to induce euphoria, and often tend to fixate on institutions of fire control like fire stations and firefighters.

Nothing about hydrophobia, right? Let’s see the article on Hydrophobia now.

Whoops, Hat has used the wrong term! Hydrophobia is used to refer to rabies or this molucule thing. Aquaphobia is fear of water. Ooh, while Aquaphobia is extended to fear of jumping in lakes and stuff, Hydrophobia, the rabies thing, is when someone is rabid and shows fear when presented something to drink. Unless Pyro is rabid, she’s not hydrophobic, she’s aquaphobic.

Okay, don’t eat me Hat, but this is nagging on my mind. Pyromania equals not Hydrophobia or Aquaphobia.

I wasn't really implying that she's hydrophobic because she's a pyromaniac (which she isn't anymore) but only that she was slightly hydrophobic and her pyromania was probably a deriving factor in it. Dun kill me! :)
