Camp…
November 25, 2008 Uncategorized No Comments… was fun! We went snorkeling and I saw lots of fishes and there was a seal two feet from me! And it looked at me with giaaant eyes!
Okay, so yesterday I went on Quest Camp. The bus trip was long and boring. We passed… cows. And more cows. And grass. And more grass. And hills.
We were driven to the camp, where they welcomed us. We unpacked our stuff and went to the pool, where there were four- oops, three pools connected by tunnel-esque things. It wasn’t very big, but the pools were deep. It kinda felt like an island, as the pools were overlooking the lake. The lake is rather big.
We were taught by the instructors how to snorkel and put on our wetsuits and stuff (we had to jump backwards!), then we had a lunch break, then we went to the pier.
Snorkeling around there was pretty cool, but I didn’t see much fishes around – JAL saw a pufferfish and someone saw a long pipefish.
Went back to camp, ate dinner, watched ten minutes of a movie before I wanted to sleep, fell asleep for an hour, woke up, ate snakes, listened to iPod, talked to girls and fell asleep.
Oh, and after dinner, we went and visited this guy’s two dingos and two dogs. One of the dingos licked my face (and part of my tongue…) and we got to pet them. And we played with the other dog and threw this pinecone for him to fetch.
That was Day One.
Now, today we woke up at the glorious time of… seven! Breakfast was pancakes and it was yum. We then packed our stuff and got on the bus to go and snorkel again.
I won’t bore you with more boring details, but we snorkeled in two places! The first was an atoll full of Australasian Garnets and birds I swear are penguins and there were fish there. The second was a brief, 10 minute snorkel with… seals!
One of them was two feet away from me, and was looking at me curiously with BIIIIIG ROUND EYES. It was very much awesome, and the seals were cute (despite anything Pyro will say. LEECHES MAY BE CUTE, BUT SEALS ARE CUTER).
Then we ate lunch and got on the bus, where we went back to school.
That was the end of the trip, the last of the journey, the blah of the blah.
The trip was awesome.
